Carefully selected itineraries ensure authentic Mexican experiences full of wonder and inspiration and offer some of the most spectacular natural sights that the Lake Chapala area has to offer.  You will explore the incredible history, tastes and culture that make Mexico one of the most fascinating countries in the world. You will experience up-close encounters with Mexican artisans, their studios and art; visits to vibrant colorful markets and exhibitions, as well as experiencing the artistic culture through dance and dining. We have creative itineraries that are all within a day's travel of your comfortable B&B. Join us and share our enthusiasm for travel, art and adventure!

Tour packages are 7 days with 6 nights and include first rate lodging in an Ajijic B&B. We are flexible on arrivals and departures. If you would like to book an additional day before or after your Chapala Tour, please let us know and we will take care of it for you.Your safty and satisfaction is our goal.

Day 1: Arrival:  Arrival and private transfer from the Guadalajara International Airport to Ajijic.  Check in and enjoy a well deserved rest!  The first night there will be a welcome cocktail for guests and a brief discussion of the upcoming week and expectations. You will receive a welcome package with daily itinerary and maps of the area.

Day 2: Maestro del Arte.
Today you will start out with a delicious breakfast before we pick you up for the wellknow artists heaven, Maestro del Arte. This is truly an opportunity to purchase Mexican arts and crafts from some of the finest artists Mexico has to offer and to meet the artists themselves. Lunch and dinner are on your own today and you will finish your tour in the mid-afternoon.  You will have time to enjoy the atmosphere on the Chapala Malecon before returning to your B&B early evening.

Day 3: Creativity and Art. After breakfast you will be picked up at 9:30 to attend your previously selected art class. Pre-Hispanic Pottery class with famous Mexican artesian Salvador Vasquez,  a unique class on color and design while you create a mosaic mirror, or a watercolor workshops with award winning artist Marci. There will be a break for a delightful lunch finishing up the classes at 3:30. You will have an hour break before we head off to a culinary class and dinner, "Cooking with Tequila" with Ser la tab chef Barbara.

Day 4: Hot springs or trip to Tequila?
Today you have a choice to relax in the mineral hot springs of San Juan Cosola or take a path into history with a trip to Tequila. After breakfast you will be picked up at 9:30 am to embark on your  journey. If you choose Tequila, you will visit the agave plantations, haciendas, tequila distillery, and more! You will dine in the private hall of an old world Tequila distillery for lunch before returning to Ajijic. The Hot Springs of San Juan Cosola will off you pure relaxation, with options of soaking in natural hot springs, message, pedicures, salt scrubs, and the intrigue of the ancient temescale (steam room).

Day 5: Guadalajara.
Today after breakfast you will be picked up at 9:30 a.m. for a full day in Guadalajara. We will go to the the Abastos, the Mexican world of spices, unusual fruits and vegetables. This is an amazing 17 blocks of fresh produce to dry goods. Your tour guides will take you through the maze of wonderful smells and sights of this amazing place. You can enjoy a wonderful lunch right in the middle of all of the fresh foods. After lunch, we will go to the colorful Guadalajara market. Fallowed by an evening at the Theater Diane enjoying the famous Ballet Folklorico. Ballet Folklorico is a  pretension of dances in costumes that reflect the traditional culture of Mexico.

Day 6: Day with the Artisans.
Enjoy your morning and breakfast, we will be visiting various artists in their studios. You will have the opportunity to see them at work as well as buy their art at wholesale prices! We will visit 4 artists and have a wonderful lunch in the historic Plaza hotel. In the afternoon you can return to your B&B or join us for a sunset boat ride to Chapala's own Scorpion Island. This Island is so small you can walk the length of it in 15 minutes or enjoy a cool drink at one of the islands rustic restaurants. The trip back along the shores of Chapala is quite beautiful. Late afternoon return to your lovely hotel. (Dinner on your own).
Depending on your interest, you could also choose to spending this day at the San Jaun Cosala natural mineral spa. You will be back in time for the boat-ride to the island. Please let us know ahead of time if you would prefer this option.

Day 7:
Free morning to enjoy Ajijic and soak in the local flavor of the plaza. It is here where the daily life is transacted and still remains a very typical Mexican Village. Depending on your departure time, you will be picked up and private transfer to the Guadalajara International Airport for your flight home.Please contact us if you have any questions;ArteLauri@yahoo.com
Art Adventure Tour in Chapala

This tour includes transportation to and from the Guadalajara international Airport, your lodging for 6 nights, all breakfasts, entry to all scheduled events, classes, designated trips, lunches and dinners. You will visit Tequila, Tlaquepaque, Guadalajara and Ajijic. You will also attend a your choice of a pre-determined 2 day art class, an artistic culinary class which includes dinner, visit an Artisan exposition where you will meet and interact with the artists, spend an evening at the Ballet Folklorico, and enjoy a boat trip to one to one of the lakes beautiful islands. There is an alternate day in the wonderful Thermal Hot Springs of San Jaun Cosala. This Tour is $1,460.00 us dollars.

Flights; We have found it extremely easy to use expedia.com to book flights.  Just put in the airport closest to you and "GDL" (for Guadalajara) for your destination and it will give you a list of all flights, the prices and routes for you to choose from. You can then proceed to book online or use the information to make your choice and book directly with your travel agent.
